Homemade gel foods supplement (not replace) commercial pellets. Use them for sick fish or seasonal variety.
Basic Gel Recipe
1 lb fresh seafood (salmon, shrimp, tilapia), 1/4 cup spirulina, 2 eggs, 4 garlic cloves, 1 oz unflavored gelatin in 1 cup water. Blend, simmer until gel, refrigerate.
Vitamin C Version
Add 1 tsp stabilized vitamin C powder per pound of fish before gelling. Excellent for recovery from disease.
Storage
Refrigerated: 5 days. Frozen in 1-day portions: 3 months.
Feeding Note
Gel foods sink. Use sparingly — maximum 20% of diet. Pellet food provides balanced nutrition the homemade can't fully match.
